Where did you get your name?
We took our name from the Brazos River here in Texas. The Clear Fork of the Brazos wanders around West Texas near our homes.
What does Brazos mean?
There are several legends about how the river received its name. One is that early
Spanish explorers, their water supply exhausted and threatened with death from thirst,
came upon the river and christened it Brazos de Dios, meaning "Arms of God", in thanksgiving.
Another is that early Spanish mapmakers called the river "Arms of God" because of the great
spread of its tributaries.
How long have you been singing together?
The Brazos Boys Quartet was formed in the fall of 1998. Chuck Sims, currently singing
Baritone for the group, was the original founding member of the group. Since that time
there have been several different versions of The Brazos Boys that have sung together all
across the state of Texas. Mark has been singing with the group since 2002; Keith has been
singing with the group since 2006; Tony joined the group in 2007 and Brian joined the group in late 2005.
How can I purchase your recording projects?
The Brazos Boys have released 3 different studio projects over the years. They are available
for purchase at any of The Brazos Boys’ concerts in your area, or by purchase through our website.
To purchase our music through our website, please see the “Merchandise” page.
How often do you sing?
Each member of The Brazos Boys considers our role in this group as part of our daily ministry to
Christ. Each of The Brazos Boys have other full-time jobs or school responsibilities that keep us
busy on a daily basis. Importantly, each of the Brazos Boys are active members of local churches
in their respective areas, and are depended on weekly to fulfill their various roles in the church.
We like to tour and sing as much as possible. Realistically, with family involved, we try to limit
our schedule to being gone no more than two full weekends a month. However, we are always open to
any concert possibility that God brings our way.
How do we book The Brazos Boys?
The Brazos Boys are available on most weekends and for some limited weekday appearances.
The best way to schedule The Brazos Boys is by contacting Chuck Sims at chuck@brazosboys.com
or by contacting Mark Perkins at mark@brazosboys.com. Since each of the members have other
full time responsibilities during the week, please consider asking about any weekday scheduling
as far in advance as possible. We appreciate you considering The Brazos Boys for your engagement
or special event!
